- What type of flooring do you recommend?
This all depends on where in the home or office the flooring will go (we wouldn’t suggest laying carpet in a bathroom), your budget, and most importantly your personal style dictates the answer to this question. Our knowledgeable team is ready to answer any inquiries you may have. We understand that purchasing new flooring can be a somewhat overwhelming and daunting task. That’s why we’re here and have been in business for well over two decades! You know your family, we know your floors.

- What is the difference between Vinyl and Luxury Vinyl?
First and foremost, both are made from… drumroll… Vinyl. Vinyl and Luxury Vinyl contain four layers. However, Luxury Vinyl uses much more material and is 5 times as thick. This allows the Luxury Vinyl to have more detail (better looking) and be more durable than regular Vinyl. Luxury vinyl floors are usually sold as planks (wood look) or tiles (stone/ceramic looks). They use an embossing process and a better picture quality to look less artificial and more like a natural stone or hardwood floor than the Vinyl counterpart. “Vinyl” comes on rolls typically 12′ in width (limited styles available in 13′ 6” and 15′ 6″ widths), but is also available as 6′ commercial goods. Slick/smooth subfloors are paramount for Rolled goods as they are basically a thick wallpaper for the floor!
- How long do estimates take?
This all depends on the availability of the customer. Once on site, depending on the size of the job, measurements usually take a half an hour to an hour. From beginning to end the estimate will be written out within an hour and half of arrival for Residential.
For a commercial job, depending on the size of the job, measurements and getting an estimate together will vary.
For both Boats and RVs, depending on the size of the job, measurements usually take a half an hour to an hour. From beginning to end the estimate will be written out within an hour and half of arrival.
- Does All About Floors use adhesives that have low emissions?
The only adhesive we use that has emissions would be contact adhesive. However, we would only use this for jobs that are outside. (i.e. a deck area) When the outdoor carpet needs to go vertically over and down a lip of a floor, and with the environmental elements, contact adhesive is the strongest.
All of the adhesives we would use for indoor installations have next to no emissions. Free of harmful chemicals. Adhesives have come a long way from when they would include asbestos. In general, if you do have a sensitive sense of smell – let your home, apartment, or office air out for about 48 hours. However, even to the most sensitive, this should never be an issue.
As a side note, some carpets can emit a scent. If you are sensitive to smells, let us know. Weeks prior to the install we would roll out the carpet material to be used, let it lay out in our warehouse and airout with industrial fans blowing across it. We will also vacuum, and repeat this process as many times as needed to make sure the smell is reduced as much as possible before installation.
- Does All About Floors offer any warranties?
We offer a “No Wrinkles Warranty”! If at ‘anytime’ you have a pucker (wrinkle) appear- call us to correct/stretch the carpet.
- Why should we choose All About Floors, instead of going to Lowe’s, Home Depot, Empire Flooring, or any other big box store – where they have cheap or free installation?
This is a very in-depth question to answer only in a few sentences. We have written an entire article on this topic alone. Please give it a read here.
